From January 2013 through June, Shaw Cushion (a division of Shaw Carpet and Fiber) has been designating a portion of pad sales as a donation to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
Shaw dealer partners from across the country were included in the promotion. A guaranteed donation of $100,000 was to be given to St. Jude’s CRH at the conclusion of the donation period.
Following the conclusion of the program, Tim Brooks, territory manager for Shaw’s St. Louis region, contacted Staff Carpet in Springfield and said the location was responsible for nearly 3 percent of the total nationwide donation made to St. Jude’s.
Staff Carpet was ranked as one of the top ten dealers in the country when it came to generating donations to this program.
The donation to St. Jude’s from Shaw will take place later this month.

Annual Tax Invasion Sale Bigger Than Ever!
Every year, Staff Carpet holds their Tax Invasion Sale, offering generous deals on carpet and floorings. This year with their new, larger location, the sale was a raving success and bigger than ever before.
The sale includes special tax invasion pricing such as discounted rates per square foot on carpet and free ten pound pads. In addition to this, the warehouse features special hours during this time to better serve the customer.
Kim Staff, Staff Carpet’s Sales Manager stated, “The annual Tax Invasion Sale is great. It really helps the customers get amazing deals and that’s what we care about! This year was especially fun. We were in our brand new location and actually shot a family commercial. We’ll be looking forward to next April and making the sale even better.”
In addition to the free pad and discounted prices, Staff Carpet offers a ‘Double Your Tax Back’ incentive. Customers can receive 12.5% OFF any purchase paid in full through the middle of April and can even choose to take it off the cost of their purchase or get it back in cash.
Expanded Staff Carpet Location Officially Opens!
Due to a need for more space in order to house their expanding inventory, Staff Carpet has moved to a new location measuring 27,000 square feet, doubling the size of their previous warehouse. This new space will enable Staff Carpet to bring in even more inventory and further expand.
Staff Carpet is a carpet and flooring business servicing the Springfield, Illinois area for over 40 years and 3 generations. What is now a successful flooring company started with one man, Jim Staff, selling carpet out of his truck.
John Staff, owner of Staff Carpet, commented on the expansion saying, “It was necessary to move to a larger location in order to maintain our steady growth. The new warehouse is great. We’re going to be able to bring in a wide-range of selections now, giving the customers even more options. That’s what’s important—making them happy.”
The new location opened just in time for Staff Carpet’s New Year’s Sale, featuring major red tag sales on a number of products. In addition to the New Year’s Sale, Staff Carpet is featuring ‘in-stock’ deals on brands such as Luxury Vinyl Tile.
Staff Carpet is now located at the corner of Veteran’s and Browning Road in Springfield, IL.
Salvation Army Receives $10k Donation
Dan Salisbury of Midwest Office Supply was one of four local businesses that presented the ceremonial "giant check" to the Salvation Army Tuesday morning.
"On behalf of the Caddy Shack Open and our four sponsors, we are proud to present to The Salvation Army today, this check for $10,000, and we wish you well," he announced.
Salisbury, along with representatives from Giganti and Giganti Jewelers, Staff Carpet, and the Bank of Springfield chose The Salvation Army as the benefiting charity for their annual Caddy Shack Open Golf Tournament.
The community need for The Salvation Army is on the rise and they've simply outgrown their North Sixth Street location. Major Paul Logan and his staff have been working hard to raise the money to renovate their new facility on North Ninth.
"We have a $6.8 million campaign, $4.8 million is our actual right now," said Logan.
The Salvation Army's fundraising campaign officially ended in September, but Logan says they'll extend it until their goal is met. Beyond large donations, they're still looking for individual pledges from the community.
"Once the money has been pledged or committed in cash, we can go ahead and borrow from The Salvation Army, knowing those pledges will come in later. We can use that money to start the project," said Logan.
Initial phases of the renovation could to take place as early as next month.
